Vintage Cocktail Club, Dublin

If like me you love cocktails and quirky places, then the Vintage Cocktail Club (VCC) in Dublin is definitely a must visit! Situated in Crown Alley in Temple Bar the VCC is hidden behind an unmarked black door, the only sign that there might be something exciting there is the small VCC on the door.

We booked a table for two and a half hours in the 7.45pm – 10.15pm slot and arrived a few minutes early. There are three different time slots you can pick from, I would definitely recommend booking in advance- I emailed ahead of time but I now see their website has a form to fill. On knocking on the black door we were greeted by one of the members of staff who showed us to our table. The room that we were seated in was a cosy lounge… think velvet, dim lighting and LOTS of atmosphere. It is almost like you have been transported back in time and are sitting in a bijou speakeasy.

The concept is great cocktails and great food, to enhance your evening your entire slot is table service. You are given the most amazing menu to look at and select from, it almost looks like a vintage story book! The VCC highlight favourite cocktails within the book and I am not joking when I say there is a drink for everyone there. We managed three cocktails each and lots of food during our time slot… the portion sizes were large and we most certainly over ordered! I would recommend the spiced wings and ginger beef from the A La Carte menu. My favourite drink has to be the Tiki Peeky, a lovely pinky drink which is made with: Absolut Grapefruit Vodka, VCC Pomegranate Tincture, cranberry and pineapple, fresh citrus, VCC 3 Sugar Syrup, soda top, with a fresh mint sprig and fresh pomegranate.

It was so much fun trying out the cocktails and doing something a little bit different in Dublin. It felt like a real treat to walk in through the secret door and sit and drink in the snug room. Price wise, this was about £120 for two of us. I organised it as a birthday treat so would say if you are looking to do something different whilst in Dublin and want to surprise someone, then a trip to the VCC is most certainly something you should think about doing.

Have you been to the VCC or do you think you will plan a trip? Let me know if you have any other must go locations!
